Diagnostic Ultrasound
Abdominal Sonogram:
An abdominal ultrasound is performed to evaluated the gallbladder, liver,
kidneys, spleen, pancreas, and associated ducts and vessels. Abdominal pain or nausea are common
indications for this type of exam.
Some of the conditions that can be detected by an abdominal ultrasound are gallstones, kidney
stones and cysts, liver cysts and tumors, and free fluid within the abdomen.
